Natasha Mann is making history. The 37-year-old visionary is co-managing director of Island Records: the first female MD in 60 years and the first woman of colour to ever hold the position. She’s worked with artists from Florence & The Machine to Drake and Mumford & Sons and founded a Women In Music community and mentorship scheme to support young talent. We caught up with Natasha at home in north London to chat mentoring, motherhood and what it’s like to be an MD.
Lulu Kennedy MBE is a bona fide fashion legend and our latest Responsible Adult. As the founder and director of Fashion East, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to finding and nurturing new design talent in the fashion industry, she has helped launch some of British fashion’s brightest stars - from Jonathan Saunders to Simone Rocha via Roksanda Ilincic, Gareth Pugh and JW Anderson. Each season, Fashion East offers three womenswear and three menswear designers the opportunity to stage a runway show during London Fashion Week.
At Ninety Percent we want to use the best fabrics possible for the purpose of our clothes looking good and feeling good. We also want them to have minimal impact on the environment and the people who make them. That’s a given. If there’s a kinder alternative and it still does the fashion job we want it to then why would we not use it? It feels like a no-brainer to us.
